Google Earth has just added some amazing new views to its mapping software. Google Ocean expands the Google Earth map to include large swathes of the ocean floor, giving users the ability to explore the sea floor in 3D. The map also includes 20 content layers, containing information from the world’s leading scientists, researchers, and ocean explorers.
Google Ocean’s aim is to give people views of the ocean floor like never before, including underwater volcanoes, running videos of marine life, shipwrecks and clips of popular surf and dive spots.
Google has also made updates on the terrestial side, including GPS tracking, virtual time travel and narrated tour of imagery and content in Google Earth. Additionally, the Mars 3D section has been updated.
