Digg is a place for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the web. From the biggest online destinations to the most obscure blog, Digg surfaces the best stuff as voted on by their users.
Time.com’s partnership with Digg.com saw Time’s audience balloon by 41% from last year. The growth had Time.com land at 6.7 million unique users in July. In January, Time. com added a “smarter” Digg button, one that lists how many people have “dug” that particular story, this move, in combination with pairing down its other button collection lead to steady growth of Time.com’s user base. Digg also built a custom widget for Time that ranks the five most Digged stories on Time.com for the day. With this addition Time.com has gone from 55 stories on the Digg website to over 100. Since Digg reaches more nearly 40 million users each moth, Time.com finds their exposure invaluable. Time.com’s Digg-driven clicks exploded from January through July, surging from 500,000 to 1.3 million.
Digg’s successful traffic driving doesn’t end with Time.com, their widget for Newsweek.com helped the website to receive 3 to 5times higher click-through rates than Newsweeks’ “most read” tool. Digg has also helped Wired.com’s traffic double in the past 6 months.
